Leading Edge Repair
Service history on the Hawker 125-800 has shown repeated instances of corrosion on the rebate areas of the wing leading edge assemblies. It was acknowledged as a serious problem by the OEM as far back as 1993, when addressed with Mandatory Service Bulletin 57-77. A poor moisture barrier and the ingress of TKS fluid create an enviroment prone to corrosion. When the TKS panels are removed for inspection or replacement, many times the corrosion is found. OEM corrosion removal limits are defined by the Service Bulletin and the Structural Repair Manual, but these limits are often exceeded leaving replacement as the only option. When skin replacement is the only or best option, consider the AVMATS Jet Support option.
AVMATS Jet Support, in conjunction with Georgian Aerospace Group, has developed a repair to fabricate new upper and lower skins for the inboard and outboard leading edge assemblies.
We mill new skins based on digital scans of actual skins. Our seasoned technicians then roll and precision fit each skin to the leading edge assembly. After skin installation we reinstall the orginal or replacement TKS panels.
